My Profiles is where you will view and work with the results of any Screenings you have done, lists you’ve pulled from Prospect, and profiles you’ve found (and saved) through the individual Search. From this one tab you can easily apply filters for segmentation, create custom tags for your campaigns, analyze your lists, score profiles, and even create models. Then, once you are ready to get that data back into your DMS or CRM, you can export the file right there.

This guide will provide an overview of the different sections in My Profiles. After all, there are many interlocking tools that work together to deliver deep insights and identify your very best donors - you don’t want to miss out on any of them.

This article will cover:

  • Customizing the display
  • Learning more with Analyze
  • Segmenting your results.
  • Creating your model.
  • Reading individual profiles.
  • Exporting your file.

Recommendation 1: Customize the display.

You may find that the list of profiles that are displayed in My Profiles doesn’t really show you the fields you are most interested in – or perhaps it shows you more than you need to see! Here you can customize exactly which columns are presented, as well as their order.

Recommendation 2: Learn more with Analyze.

This tool will provide you with an in-depth analysis of the people in your file, including statistical breakdowns on their demographic information, wealth scores, giving capacity, business details, and more. You can use this to learn more about your top donors, as well as what qualities set them apart from national averages.

Recommendation 3: Segment your results.

The large pane on the left of My Profiles can toggle back and forth between two functionalities: Lists and Filters.

The Lists option simply displays all of your separate files. This will include screenings and groups pulled from Prospect, as well as individually searched (and saved) profiles. Filters then allows you to dig deeper. You can choose from over 50 different attributes to segment your results and easily figure out who in that list has certain qualities. Utilizing everything from key scores to donation history, and even specific data source matches, you can identify who you should be focusing on.

Recommendation 4: Create a model.

Here you can build a model based on a list of your most valuable supporters. It will identify what qualities set your constituents apart from national averages and WealthEngine will use the top 30 to create the model. You can then use it to both find brand new leads and see how your current people compare.

Scoring Profiles

Once you’ve created your model, you can compare profiles to it in order to see how much they resemble your top donors, based on those 30 attributes. An individual will be scored from 1-100, with 1 = least similar, and 100 = most similar. This will help you figure out which individuals look most like your best supporters!

Applying to Prospect

You can also apply that model to the Prospect tool in order to find new leads – people you don’t know - who nevertheless closely resemble your top supporters! Just click "Find Prospect" from the model’s overview page and it will take you right to Prospect, where you can now utilize the "Filter Using the Model" slider. This will allow you to find individuals that have a certain degree of similarity when compared to the people your model was based upon.

Additional Insight

While only the top 30 attributes are factored into the model itself, the overview page will list the top 100.  You can use the rest to learn more about your finest people and what they have in common!

Recommendation 5: Read individual profiles.

As you apply filters and analyze your lists, you will likely find specific individuals you want to spend more time on. At this point you can click on their name to access their actual profile. This is where you can do a deeper dive, viewing the records and data points that formed the profiles and drove those key scores, as well as gaining more sophisticated insight into who this person is and what you might use for cultivation.

Recommendation 6: Export your file.

Once you have your final results (which you ideally reviewed and verified), it’s time to export the data so you can then get it back into your DMS or CRM. You can choose from many pre-built templates – and most of our clients do just that. However, if none of those standard options work, there’s no need to worry. You actually have the ability to customize which fields are included in your export, and in what order, so as to match the format and arrangement of your database.
